Solar Panel Installers in Trowbridge
Our team is based in Frome, about 20 minutes away. We design and fit solar panels and home batteries across Trowbridge and west Wiltshire, with clear advice and no pressure.
Terraces, Estates And Everything Between.
Trowbridge grew as a wool town, so it has a mix of old weavers' cottages, long Victorian terraces and big modern estates like Paxcroft Mead and Castle Mead. Each needs a different approach.
A terrace roof may be small but well placed. A newer home often has the space for a full array and a battery. We work out what makes sense for yours.

Solar works
on all kinds of homes
Panels make electricity from daylight, not heat. So they work on Wiltshire roofs all year round.
If you live on a newer estate, check whether your home already has panels or was built ready for them. If you live in an older terrace, we look at the roof and the wiring before we design anything.
Either way you get an honest answer on what is worth doing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do solar panels work in winter?
Yes. Solar panels generate electricity from daylight rather than heat and continue producing energy throughout the year.
How much roof space do I need?
Most residential systems require between 10 and 25 panels, depending on your goals, roof layout and available space.
How long do solar panels last?
Modern solar panels are typically expected to continue producing electricity for 25 to 40 years or more.
Can I add battery storage later?
Yes. Many homeowners install solar first and add battery storage later, provided the system has been designed with future upgrades in mind.
How much maintenance do solar panels require?
Very little. Most systems require minimal maintenance beyond occasional inspections and performance monitoring.
Is planning permission required?
Most residential solar installations fall under permitted development, although some exceptions can apply.
Can solar work with EV charging?
Yes. Solar can help support EV charging, especially when paired with smart charging and battery storage.
Can solar work with heat pumps or air conditioning?
Yes. Solar can help support a more electric home by offsetting some of the additional electricity demand.

We needed our existing array of solar panels removed and reinstalled during a roof tile replacement. They were efficient, came when they said they would come, and were very efficient.
Toby C.
The installation crew was prompt, respectful, and clearly knew what they were doing. They kept the worksite clean and walked me through every step. Now that the system is up and running, I’m completely self-sufficient — and it feels amazing!

Thanks to JellyWatt Renewables for the installation on our double garage last October. It was a quick and easy process and we're delighted with what we've generated over the winter. Now the brighter weather is here, things are looking even better.

We have just had our EV charger put in by JellyWatt Renewables and not only did they up it up efficiently, Linden made sure to add our phones to link the device. It is working perfectly and only using solar or the cheapest electricity rate. They made sure to fit it carefully to a difficult uneven wall too! Thank you so much - I highly recommend them!

Excellent service and really smooth installation and nothing was too much trouble. We have had the system in a year now and everything is working as it should be. Highly recommended.

Supply and fit of a replacement inverter. Rob the engineer was super efficient and knowledgeable. Excellent Fox ESS app provides helpful data that we never previously had.

Exceptional service from JellyWatt. From initial discussion with Linden on needs and wants through installation and commissioning (Tom). While not everything went as smoothly as we all would have liked (breaking of some of the trays both on delivery and installation), these were redelivered and installed without fuss. All in all, an exceptional service, installation and now enjoying the solar energy.

Very luckily for me, I found Linden at JellyWatt renewables who was just so incredibly helpful. … Tom was amazing … he listened, helped us set up the app to make it do what we needed it to. He was incredibly thorough and didn’t leave until he was confident that I fully understood what he had done. I can heartily recommend JellyWatt Renewables.
